Just a quick reply...

I just wanted to post a quick reply to a comment posted in the Poll section of this blog, concerning blogs and the bicycle industry.

Scarbon,
It is definitely addicting, but I am fortunately paid to spend time "spreading the word" and blogging falls perfectly into that category, especially as it is free. Before blogging, I had to spend an even greater amount of time chasing down magazine editors to try and sweet talk them into giving me a few inches of column space. Now, I can publish all I have the time to and can reach my "public" every day. On the days that I do not have the time or am too busy, I forgo the blog and return when time better permits. Another fortunate circumstance is that as a "professional writer", it is very easy for me to put together a posting. Typically speaking, I only spend between 30 and 45 minutes a day on the blog. Pretty good return on the investment.

[since my comment did not post on the poll, is this site run by interbike ;-)]

what's the difference between talking to hundreds of interested parties [consumer and or retail] or talking to one rep [the time to post something]? tim's time is now more efficient, his words more widespread, creates returning interest, and well you can't send a picture over the phone and we all know what a thousand words can do. nor can you call all your customers, but they can read your blog. great job tim, keep up the innovation. p.s. what's the new math [blog = sales].
